In this department, we conduct education and research into advanced production technologies, such as thermal and fluid systems control, mechatronics, computer-aided design, efficient production line operating processes, robot engineering and intelligent machine element studies.

Based on the principles of electromagnetics, electricity and electronic circuitry, this department conducts education and research into electronic devices, computers developed by combining such devices, network systems that link computers, and other general information engineering topics.

This department conducts general education and research into the internal and external environments of buildings while adopting a fundamental approach from the dual aspects of structure (such as structural dynamics and structural studies) and planning (including architectural planning and city planning).

The most pressing challenge of the 21st Century is the development of a sustainable society. This department focuses therefore on general education on the environment, based on natural sciences, as well as on economics and business management, based on social sciences, in order to develop the human resources that can apply these engineering techniques to disc00overing and solving issues surrounding managerial activities.

In this department, we conduct education and research into the biological sciences, focusing on basic and applied biotechnology, microbiological and molecular studies of cellular and microorganism functions, as well as on zymurgy and food sciences, with the aim of fully utilizing our abundant local resources.

By focusing on the physiology and ecology of bioresources, this department conducts education and research into advanced bio-production systems in agriculture and other biological industries through innovative production technologies that center on new seed development, improved breeding technology, and cropland ecosystems based on applied biotechnology.

Based on the scientific assessment of our diverse natural environment and rich bioresources, this department conducts education and research into the utilization, preservation and regeneration of bioresources in human social lifestyles, including environmental conservation and the restoration of bioresources and resource ecosystems.

To contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture and farming communities, this department conducts general education and research into agricultural processes, ranging from cultivation and rearing of farm and livestock products to processing, distribution, retailing and rural environmental conservation, and seeks possibilities for agricultural entrepreneurship based on bioresource utilization.
