Akita Prefectural University aims at
- educating young people who will tale over the responsibilities
in the 21st century,and
- contributing to sustainable development of the local areas
as a university open to all members of society
as the principle idea for its foundation.
In order to fulfill these roles,
the university has been vigorously promoting activities.
It is of special importance to provide young people scientific and
technological stimuli to bring up competent human resources
that can play active roles in developing industries of Akita district.
Moreover,
it is considered to be an effective way to facilitate
the human and technological exchange among domestic and
foreign researchers for contributing to the local community via
the cooperration between industries and academia.
Based on the concepts mentioned above,
Akita Prefectural University organizes
``The International Science Forum'' since 2001,
which is held alternatily in Honjo campus and
Akita campus every other year.

地域産業の振興には次世代技術者をになう人材の育成が不可欠であり、
彼らに対して先端技術に関する知的刺激を与え続けることが重要である
と考えられます。
また、
産学交流による地元地域への貢献につきましては、
国内外の研究者や技術者との学術・技術の交流を通じた
技術的・人的ネットワークの構築が有効と考えられます。
こうした視点から、
秋田県立大学では平成13年度より、
本荘キャンパスと秋田キャンパスが隔年で国際サイエンスフォーラムを開催して
参りました。

The principal aim of the International Science Forrum 2005
(ISF2005) is to provide a suitable forum
for constructive interaction and exchange of
knowledge & experience among
researchers,
engineers,
students,
and citizens
concerned with various aspects of the
energy and environment in 21st century.
The domestic and foreign leading resachers
will be invited to make some presentations covering
some of the important perspectives in this context.
The forum is believed to be surely
significant to contrivute to the
development of academic and industrial
researches both in Akita Prefecture and the district.

「国際サイエンスフォーラム2005(ISF2005)」は、
21世紀のエネルギート環境に関心を持つ研究者、
技術者、学生、市民間で相互に情報交換するための場を
提供することを目的とします。
本会議では、
海外諸国ならびに国内の英知を招き、
エネルギー供給および省エネルギーに関する最新技術を
学生や地域住民に講演して頂きます。
本会議は本荘由利地区ひいては秋田県における今後の
産業、そして学術研究の進展に対し、
大きく寄与するものと信じています。
