Akita Prefectural University, which was inaugurated in 1999, consists of the Faculties of System Science and Technology, and of Bioresource Sciences. The university’s underlying concept is that of “educating young people who will accept the responsibilities of the 21st century” and “contributing to the continuous development of the Akita area”.
Our contributions to the local community are to strengthen the social structure of Akita Prefecture, where we try and serve as a “center of wisdom”. Moreover, as Akita Prefecture aspires to be a region where people can enjoy its rich nature, we collaborate with the local citizens to realize this dream. At the same time, we make every effort to promote our scientific activities to international standards.
